Maui Beaches

Maui Beaches

A list of just some of the best Maui beaches to check out. You have to decide if you want rocks vs sand or safety vs big waves. White sand vs red sand vs black sand. Always be careful of the currents and some but not all beaches have lifeguards. Feel free to pick your top maui beaches after visiting an let us know.

Central Maui Beaches - East Maui Beaches

Kanaha Beach Park
First beach as you get off the plane. It's quite a nice family beach. Literally tun right out of the Airport and go to the end of the road.
Waiehu Beach Park
First rule of Waiehu Beach Park is don't talk about Waiehu Beach Park. Just enjoy the area north of Kahului.
Baldwin Beach - Baby Beach
One connects to the other. Baby beach is just as it states as in more small family friendly. Baldwin can have strong currents so be careful. On the Hana Highway but not too far from Airport and before Paia.
Kuau Beach
Some cool tide pools. Near Mama's Fish House past Haiku.
Ho'okipa Beach Park
Lots of windsurfing going on here. Swells can close the parking lot area.
JAWS
Home of the big surf dogs. Just watch safely from shore.....

South Maui Beaches

Sugar Beach
As it's name implies. A white sandy beach. Just don't try to eat the sand or put it in your drink. Bonus is it is near Ululani's Hawaiian Shave Ice in Kihei.
Kamaole Beach Park I, II, III
Nice smaller beaches with a lot of park space down the Kihei strip. III is a great place to watch the sunset. Expect party noise and locals throwing a BBQ.
Keawakapu Beach
A beach the locals love in Kihei.
Ulua Beach
Known for it's snorkeling.
Wailea Beach
A long stretch of Beach running from one resort to another. People watching indeed.
Oneuli
Black sand beach
Big Beach - Makena
One of the big daddy of beaches. It's a big sandy spot to lay out but the tides can be dangerous. A short walk across the rocks and you end up at a nudist beach (little beach).

West Maui Beaches

Ukumehame Beach Park
First one on the road to Lahaina. A beach with trees growing out of it. Relatively shallow but snorkeling and kayaking are good.
Mile Marker 14
Shhhhh. A smaller beach that has a good shelf to walk out into the water without large waves. A good place to just Float
Launiupoko Beach Park
Protective rock lagoon for the little ones. Has a clear view of Lanai
Ka'anapali Beach
The beach and up to the special cliff diving area at Black Rock Beach. It's West Maui's signature beach and usually voted one of the best beaches in the world. The Hawaiian Royalties beach for a reason.
Napili Bay
A very scenic bay with mad snorkeling
Kahana Beach
Reef protected so it's mellower
Kapalua Beach
Rent a canoe and crush it brah.
Honolua
Way up there. Usually calm clear waters of a protected marine reserve makes good snorkeling. Sandy with Surfing

Hana Beaches

Wai'anapanapa State Park
This place is off the hook.
Hana Bay Beach
You survived the road to Hana. Now don't throwup in the ocean.
Kaihalulu Beach
Red Sand Beach that;s kind of like a protected cove.
Ohe O Gulch
You have to check out the Seven Pools of swimming holes. Be very careful. Go much further and your Rental Car Insurance is no good.
