Sacramento to Maui
Sacramento to Maui
We had made the decision to skip out on a maui Vacation this time around. Instead we will focus on some road trips on the West Coast and not take to the sky. Since we can't drive to Maui we won't be pulling of another Sacramento to Maui.
So where does this leave Sacramento to Maui... Still on the web and still as a resource for you all to look over, plan, and go. While the vacation blog will not be updated unless we connect with some mainland Ohana we will continue to update and upgrade Sacramento to Maui.
Sacramento to Maui
Ug! First day back to work. need a couple more Maui days. I'm not ready for this. Plus I'm trying to not rub it in that I got to go to Maui and it was wonderful. I don't want to be a jerk to my coworkers.
Sacramento Maui aka SMF to OGG has only 1 direct flight. Alaska Airlines flies it using a smallish 737 straight out of Sacramento Terminal B. A decently early flight that gets you into Maui early afternoon. Just the right time to get off and hit the beach before checking in.
I downloaded the Alaska Air App and checked in the night before and triggered electronic boarding passes. Though the app I noticed two premium coach seats available for and additional $75 each and pulled the trigger to get 4 Inches more legroom and a little snack. Plus i reserved us a Fruit and Cheese Plate. The only downside of the app was paying through the app. it didn't work for me so I had to go to the ticket counter to pay. Luckily it didn't take long at all. SMF to OGG was 2401 miles and 5 hours and 45 minutes away.
So this time around we bought a Costco package deal that put us right on Kaanapali Beach in a resort with an Ocean View. Soon as we checked in we changed and this the beach.
Then of course evening sunset rolled around and so did some exotic drinks. Our vacation is just beginning as we wind down our travels for the day sipping exotic drinks and watching the sun go down
SMF to OGG just landed
So we made it to Kahului airport aka OGG. A few bumps and the usual wind landing through the Maui Valley. But being on a smaller plane the pilots didn't have to hit the brakes too hard touching down on the OGG runway.
As an Anniversary surprise for my darling wife I ordered her a Lei Greeting. I remember in the past when one would arrive in Hawaii and the Hula Girls were at the gate handing them out but that was years ago. This time I had to pay and we met up with the person down by the baggage claim.
We are going back to Maui. Sacramento to Maui on Alaska airlines and this time staying in Kaanapali. We decided to pull the trigger for our Wedding Anniversary and bought a Costco Package deal. Today we got to SMF board the jet said goodbye to California and got ready to experience Maui again. Aloha from the Randall Ohana.
Alaska Airlines SMF to OGG
We are getting close to going back to Maui again. This time we booked direct from Sacramento to Maui. So convenient but definitely more expensive. On the flip side a shorter commute taken to the airport by our sister in law. So we will be at SMF to OGG soon enough. Alaska is a bit more expensive and uses a smaller plane. A Boeing 737-800 with fewer seats than the Hawaiian Air A350 we took last time from OAK to OGG.
Alaska Airlines has a cell phone app so I downloaded it to check in remotely and see if we an upgrade or move our seats forward. Also already pre-ordered some snacks right from my phone. So soon enough we will be airborne and posting pics on Sacramento to Maui. Be ready. We are.
The Randalls. Neil who is married to Cheryl have been planning a Maui vacation for months. We are sharing a few things to do in Maui on this Maui Travel Blog
