My parents gave us a Maui present when we visited them in the Bay Area for Christmas. A puzzle of Lahaina perhaps just missing a really tall Mick Fleetwood. Sacramento to Maui

Maui 2017We will be returning to Maui shortly. This time staying in kaanapali and exploring that side of the island. Getting ready for a very beachy relaxing good time and getting some homemade tiki drinks on. Sacramento to Maui
The Randall house is abuzz with talk of going back to Maui. It's been too long but we're looking into returning. We have a week or two window in feb. with flights still looking good and prices being good. But, then there is a sharp price increase. Or do we wait till early May and go in a different season and experience a slightly different Maui? We'll need to pull the trigger very quickly if we go for Feb.
Fish Face Poke Bar SacramentoTrying to relive our time on Maui we went to Fish Face Poke Bar for some before mentioned Poke and a Musubi (one of our favorite tasty things) The Poke was on point with big and perhaps a bit too much Ahi Tuna. The hoisin sauce added o the mix of greens. The musubi was a hybird as we ordered it to go.. It was prepared and packaged by Fish Face but then the end user had to roll it. Kinda weird but enjoyable in a diy way.The weirdness lies in it not being able to consume immediately as one has to undo the seaweed from the packaging to then roll it. My rolling skills did not pass the test as it was a bit loose. Tasty though.
L&L Hawaiian MusubiI felt the need. The need for Spam. maybe it was a salt craving but I went to the nice part of Florin Road west of I-5 and got my musubi on at L&L Hawaiian Barbecue. Rice, Seaweed, Sauce, and Spam. Enjoyed every second of it.
A Sacramento to Maui BreakfastWe were missing our Maui breakfast so we decided to re-create one. From of all places: Safeway.
so we're back in Sacramento missing some hawaiian food so tried to track down some musubi. a few places popped up an we will visit them all. i did buy some spam sushi named musubi at sunshine hawaiian bbq on folsom blvd to take to the wife for a jet lagged slice of maui craving lunch. spam! spam! spam! and for desert a hidden leftover gem from our baggage.
